Mission

The Public Finance discipline mainly focuses on the role of the state in the economy. However, the department of Public Finance is an interdisciplinary field that examines the role of the state in the economy from an economic, legal and political perspective. In this context, our department carries out academic activities in order to analyze the financial and economic problems in the public sector of the economy and to produce suitable solutions for these problems. Our curriculum, which is organized according to this purpose, includes a wide range of theoretical and empirical economics, business, law and finance courses. Some of the courses included in the curriculum are: public finance, public economics, fiscal and monetary policies, tax - budget theory and policy, micro and macro economics, general accounting, statistics, econometrics, constitutional and administrative law, law of obligations, finance and economic history, history of economic ideas.

Vision

As the Public Finance Department, we aim to be a department that employs and trains competent scientists at the national and international level with a quality-oriented education approach, while providing well-trained graduates needed in the public and private sectors, while achieving the above-mentioned mission. In addition, in order to contribute to these goals, we actively support our students to gain extra-curricular experiences such as internships throughout their faculty life, as well as organize seminars and student meetings where experts are invited to assist students in their career planning. Our student clubs also actively contribute to students' extracurricular experiences.

Gradaute Requirements

Our students are required to be successful in all the courses determined in the curriculum and to complete at least 240 ECTS credits.

Employment Opportunities

Our students who successfully complete the program are in the public sector, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Turkish Court of Accounts, Strategy and Budget Department, Central Bank, Revenue Administration, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency, Public Procurement Agency, Public Oversight, Accounting and Audit Standards Institution and in institutions and organizations such as the Capital Markets Board. In the private sector, they have career opportunities in areas such as financial consultancy and independent accounting, banking, stock market, insurance, customs and foreign trade, accounting and tax applications, and human resources. On the other hand, our students have the opportunity to continue their academic careers.
