Department of Social Services Information

Social service is a dynamic profession based on struggle that aims to prevent and solve problems that develop beyond their control in the environmental conditions in which individuals, families and societies live, to meet material and non-material needs, to improve social welfare and quality of life. It is a scientific orientation of social assistance and solidarity. In this context, as the conscience of the society, the individual, family and society who experience deprivation and problems try to improve their functionality in life and increase their well-being.

In order to graduate from the program, it is obligatory to be successful in the courses, practices (internships) and graduation thesis in the Social Service Undergraduate Program and to take a total of 152 credits. In addition, each student prepares a graduation thesis by researching and compiling on a specific subject. During the internships, they are placed in various social service institutions and practice under the supervision of the instructor in social personal work, social group work, community work and social work management methods, which are the methods of the social work profession.

The Social Service Department implements an education and training program aimed at educating professionals who have the ability to integrate behavioral sciences, social service methods and techniques, and field practices within the framework of their professional responsibilities, who can perform successful studies at national and international level, and who can provide service by integrating and assimilating the necessary information for social service.
